Six degrees of Flaherty

Here is the "Six degrees of separation" chart for the early documentary film world.

  1. by way of explanation, last year when we read Barnouw and Aufderheide, I started to see how the early documentary film movement had all these artists, filmmakers, sound people, activist working with this relatively young technology to make a difference in the world. As I read, I started to map out connections between people (like Grierson screening Battleship when he screened the Drifters; like Flaherty working for Grierson for a while in England, etc.).
